Dhanush emerging director?

Directors are becoming actors and vice versa. The latest name to be added to this actor-turning-director list will be that of Dhanush, the son-in-law of superstar Rajinikanth. The young actor revealed about his passion for direction in a recent interview to a local newspaper. Dhanush has been shooting for his film 'Padikadhavan' at Guindy, Chennai. Dhanush revealed his desire to the news man and even told him that he is even ready with the script. On query as to whether he will begin to direct immediately, the actor revealed that he has plans to start directing a film next year. Dhanush will be a director for this film and also hopes to direct a hero. But if the hero is not able to do justice to the role than he might himself have to don the role of the protagonist he described. When asked if his passion for direction was a new-found interest, the actor revealed that he had been doing his home work for the past four to five years. Dhanush sure seems to be a man with a mission. Here is wishing him the very best for his directorial venture.

'Yaradi Nee Mohini' on April 4

Dhanush – Nayantara starrer ‘Yaradi Nee Mohini’, one of the most awaited films in the recent times, is expected to hit the halls by April 4. The film, which has been censored with ‘U’ certificate, will be released with more than 200 prints. The romantic drama with comedy and superb music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is a remake of the Telugu hit ‘Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule’, directed by Selvaraghavan. 'Yaradi Nee Mohini', directed by Selvaraghavan’s erstwhile assistant Mithran R. Jawahar, is said to be a perfect family entertainer. The film has no violence or vulgarity in the name of comedy. Nayantara, who sizzled with her glamorous appearance in ‘Billa’, is handling role that gives more scope for acting than sizzling. It is worth recalling that Trisha, who donned the female lead in the original, got the MAA TV Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film.

Dhanush in ‘Padikkathaavan’

Dhanush’s romance with Rajini titles continues. Following the successful film ‘Polladhavan,’ he is now set to act in a film titled ‘Padikkaathavan’. The movie will be directed by Suraj and produced by the seasoned production house Vauhini Combines. It was Dhanush who insisted that the movie should have a title from Superstar’s hit movies. Suraj, it is said, promptly suggested two titles as ‘Vitudhalai’ and ‘Padikkaathavan’ and Dhanush selected the second one. So ‘Padikkaathavan’ follows ‘Polladhavan’. As we have reported earlier, Dhanush’s project with ‘Polladhavan’ director Vetri Maaran is confirmed. The movie will be started after Dhanush completes Suraj’s film. Suraj, who gave a hit movie ‘Marudamalai’ starring Arjun last year, has prepared a fun filled action script that impressed Dhanush very much. Music will be done by Mani Sharma and the choice of the heroine is yet to be finalized. The film will go to floors in April.
