Mamta in 'Kuselan'

After a streak of not so successful films in her career, Mamta Mohandas has finally bagged the big role that may make drastic changes in her popularity. The latest reports are that director P. Vasu has roped in Mamta Mohandas, the beautiful lass from Kerala, along with Nayantara, Meena, and Sneha, to don a role in ‘Kuselan’. Mamta, who debuted into filmdom through Hariharan's 'Mayookham’, did find her only hit in Malayalam in ‘Big B’. She then switched over to other south Indian languages besides establishing herself as a playback singer in Telugu. The girl, who acted with Vishal in Karu Pazhaniappan’s ‘Sivappathigaram’, is doing a couple of projects with leading stars in Telugu. Her appearance in Superstar’s ‘Kuselan’ is expected to do wonders in her career. In Malayalam, she will be seen in a number of good projects opposite young stars in 2008.

Dhanush – Nayantara starrer ‘Yaradi Nee Mohini’, one of the most awaited films in the recent times, is expected to hit the halls by April 4. The film, which has been censored with ‘U’ certificate, will be released with more than 200 prints. The romantic drama with comedy and superb music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is a remake of the Telugu hit ‘Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule’, directed by Selvaraghavan. 'Yaradi Nee Mohini', directed by Selvaraghavan’s erstwhile assistant Mithran R. Jawahar, is said to be a perfect family entertainer. The film has no violence or vulgarity in the name of comedy. Nayantara, who sizzled with her glamorous appearance in ‘Billa’, is handling role that gives more scope for acting than sizzling. It is worth recalling that Trisha, who donned the female lead in the original, got the MAA TV Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film.
The audio of ‘Santhosh Subramaniam’ will be released on March 23 and the function, attended by the entire cast and crew of the movie, will be relayed live by Sun TV. The function will be different from the usual audio releases with the whole programme conducted in an interactive manner.
