Rajini speaks out at audio launch

Speaking at the audio release function of the Telugu movie ‘Bujjigadu – Made In Chennai’, Rajinikanth, said, 'Puri Jaganath introduced Kannada matinee idol Rajkumar's on to silver screen. Chiranjeevi's son is shaping his career in filmdom under the able guidance of Puri Jaganath. Had I had a son, I would have ensured that he is introduced to cinema by Jaganath'. On taking part in the function, he said, ' normally I am choosy on attending public functions. However when I was approached for this event, I told to them to have a gala function at Andhra Club.' He expressed his confidence that the movie starring Prabhas, Trisha and Mohan Babu would go on to become a big hit. Trisha, Priyamani, Sanjana were among those present on the occasion.

Aish speaks on ‘Robot’ & Rajini

Aishwarya Rai, who keeps details about her film close to her heart, has opened out on her Tamil venture ‘Robot’ opposite Rajinikanth. When asked about ‘Robot’, Aishwarya said, 'I want to work with Rajinikanth. He is phenomenal. Everyone speaks of this experience. I'll actually go through the experience. It's very important for me to come away with something from my films since I give so much. 'The film is directed by Shankar, who gave Aishwarya her first break in ‘Jeans’. 'It's a total Rajini-Shankar styled entertainer. There's no logic as to why I agreed to do it beyond the urge to work with Rajinikanth. Shankar and Rajini have approached me for so many films, it's embarrassing.' 'Ever since we did ‘Jeans’ together Shankar has approached me for all his films except ‘Boys’. 'Rajinikanth, being the senior that he is, has shown no egoistic traits in approaching me for his last four-five films. And my refusal to do his films was never misconstrued by him. I admire him for that. It speaks volumes for his seniority and his caliber as a human being to never take offence to my no', she said. Aishwarya Rai said, 'technically the movie it will take cinema to another level. I can only say I'll come away enriched.'

The music of ‘Sultan The Warrior’

‘Sultan The Warrior’, the hi-tech and novel attempt on celluloid by Superstar Rajinikanth’s daughter, is growing in a fast pace with 20 per cent of the movie is completed. More exciting news about the first ever 3D animation feature film in India is that the music wizard A.R. Rahman has so far composed two songs for the movie. As director Soundarya informed earlier, the film has all the ingredients of a Superstar flick, including the intro song for the Superstar. The song, penned by veteran lyricist Vairamuthu and sung by S.P. Balasubramaniam, is all set to enthrall the Rajini fans. The other song is a duet song, which is again penned and sung by Vairamuthu and SPB respectively.

SRK, Yash Raj films & Rajinikanth clash!

As interesting as the headline is the story itself. If reports smoking out of Bollywood are to be believed then we can witness the clash of Titans, we mean with regards to the film industry. Red Chillies VFX, Yash Raj FIlms and Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya's Ocher Studios will be vying with each other in the National Association of Broadcasters show to be held in Las Vegas on April 15. The three production houses will also be making their presentations. Reports suggest that the production houses will also extend their service to not just desi but foreign films as well. The highest billing among these three production houses has been given to given to SRK's Red Chillies VFX. Not to mention that SRK's production has ventured into making animation films as well. Rajinikanth's Ocher Studios has ventured in to the production and making of the animated film 'Sultan - The warrior', with a whooping budget of 70 crore rupees. Reports indicate that there is tough competition existing between Red Chillies VFX and Ocher Studios. And with Yash Raj films too coming out with an animation film titled 'Roadside Romeo' the competition is getting stiffer. Now the best we can do is just wait till the calender turns April 15th and watch who gets picked as the best!

The entire atmosphere was brimming with enthusiasm. The occasion was the shooting of ‘Kuselan’ in Ramoji Rao Film City, Hyderabad. The shooting witnessed a horde of stars including Superstar Rajinikanth, Nayantara, Mamta Mohandas, and Sneha. The environment of the shooting spot, according to an insider, was just like a festival. The entire set was turned out to be a place of celebration, informs the source. On the sidelights, Superstar was quite upset on the day when his friend and co-actor Raghuvaran died. He was not able to visit Raghuvaran’s house to pay the homage, as he was caught in a busy schedule. The shooting will soon shift to the picturesque locales of Pollachi. Keep watching IndiaGlitz, the official media partner of ‘Kuselan’, for the latest news on the movie.

The venue was high profile. So were the VVIP guests at the do. Wine flowed and waiters passed on hor d’oeuvres as the formal sit-down party began for the launch of the film. The event started off with special numbers performed by a bevy of white dancers specially brought in to up the glamour quotient of the evening. As lasers beamed they danced to the tunes of the songs from Rajini’s various films till Jagapati Babu walked in to begin the formal event.

Rajini visits Palm Grove after 25 years

Palm Grove Hotel witnessed a lot of crowd and sensation today, as Superstar Rajinikanth visited the place unexpectedly. Hotel management found it tough to manage the heavy crowd that gathered in the hotel to have a glimpse of their beloved star. It is said that the Superstar hasn’t visited the hotel for the past 25 years. Rajini’s visit to the hotel is quite unexpected. When he called up director P. Vasu in the morning, the director said that he was sitting with G.V. Prakashkumar for the composing for ‘Kuselan’. Rajini surprised the director and the music director by immediately coming to the hotel to take part in the discussion.

Rajinikanth, Pasupathy, Nayantara, Meena, Vadivelu and many others are going to Hyderabad along with director P. Vasu and cinematographer Aravind Krishna by tomorrow. Prabhu, who is doing a role on the request of Superstar, will also participate in the shooting that is scheduled for 30 days. Prabhu, it is learnt, would handle the role done by Mukesh in the original movie ‘Katha Parayumbol’. The movie, produced by Kavithalaya, will be a bilingual venture, being produced in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. ‘Kuselan’ is expected to be a realistic and poignant movie.

The reason – Rajinikanth has given a green signal to the director P. Vasu for stretching his role with a stunt sequences as well as songs in his upcoming film ‘Kuselan’. The Malayalam original that featured ace actor Mammootty in the part that Rajini will soon be shooting for, just had a little difference; Mammootty had made a very fulfilling guest appearance in ‘Katha Parayumbol’. ‘Kuselan’ will feature that typical Rajini stunt and song, much to the fulfillment of innumerable Rajini fans around. We had informed you a couple of weeks back that the superstar’s fans were making a beeline to director Vasu’s house and requesting the director for a more elaborate role of their superstar, but then Rajini had declined the offer. But all that is history now, because the shooting for 'Kuselan' will soon begin with 25 days of shoot devoted to the Superstar. The first half of the shoot with the superstar is expected to start in Hyderabad this coming week. Reports coming in also suggest that the second schedule of the shooting is expected to take place in Pollachi and Udumalpet regions. ‘Kuselan’ will be produced by director Balachander’s ‘Kavithalaya’. The superstar in this film will share screen space with Nayantara. Pasupathi will be playing the role of Rajini’s friend in this film – the part played by Srinivasan in the Malayalam version. Pasupathi too plays the role of a local barbar, who lives a hand-to-mouth existence in the film and will be seen co-staring with Meena. The comic interludes throughout the film will be provided by Vadivelu, who even with his looks and expression sends the audience into peels of laughter. The film will have music highlights by the young and talented G.V. Prakash who is slowly but steadily carving a niche for himself in the music department. With a winning team at hand we are sure to see big collections for this one at the box office!

Who is the cinematographer of Robo?

KV Anand had been the cinematographer for all the Shankar movies all these years. But due to unavoidable reasons, he may not be able to work with Shankar for Robo. Shankar is now on a hunt to find his cinematographer as he plays a pivotal role in the making of any movie. Anybody free?

Is Robo similar to Matrix?

Ever since the news about Rajini's next venture 'Robo' was officially announced, fans all over the world went rampant. The movie is alleged to be the costliest Indian movie ever made with a mouth watering budget of 130 crores. Some say that the movie has a storyline of that of Matrix. But who knows. Could be or couldn't. But definitely I don't want the similar story. Try something different Shankar ji!

The most anticipated movie of 2008, Dasavadharam's audio launch is all set to be held on the 2nd of April. It was supposed to be released much earlier, but due to some problems it is postponed. Jackie Chan is expected to participate in the function alongside Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, and Amitabh Bachan. Himesh Reshamiya has composed the songs.

Sivaji - a let down

Lots of expectations aroused when the news that Sivaji - acted by Rajini and directed by Shankar was announced. All Rajini fans were so jubilant to see their star pair up with the commercial king of Tamil cinema, Shankar. But after watching the movie I felt that the movie was more of a Rajini movie, rather than that of Shankar's. The movie disappointed everyone and was a total let down. Better luck next time Shankar.
